Upcoming Exhibitions and Events

Below are exhibitions that I will be participating in during the coming months.

The Nature of Things at Harris Arts Center

Harris Arts Center in Calhoun, Georgia, will be exhibiting “The Nature of Things”, photographs by Lisa Martin, Lucie Canfield and me.  There will be a variety of nature photos including wildlife, landscapes and botanicals.  Each of us will be showing 15-20 images of our images of nature. Opening reception is Sunday, September 15 from 3:00 - 4:30. The exhibition will be open through October 20.  Harris Arts Center is located at 212 S. Wall Street in Calhoun.

Aline Smithson Selects 2024

Opening September 17, the Atlanta Photography Group will be exhibiting Aline Smithson Selects 2024.  Aline is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Lenscratch, an online photography daily journal, a photographic artist and educator.  APG is located in Ansley Mall between CVS and LA Fitness 1544 Piedmont Ave, NE, #107, Atlanta.  The opening reception will be Saturday, September 28, 6:00-9:00.

SlowExposures 2024

September 20 thru 22 is the weekend for SlowExposures, a juried exhibition celebrating photography of the rural south.Two of my embroidered photos were juried into the main exhibition. This is the 21st year for this photo weekend located in Zebulon and Concord, Georgia.  In addition to the main exhibition which takes place in Concord, there will be 6 popup exhibitions by southern photographers and a photography book fair on the square in Zebulon.  Janisse Ray, author of Ecology of a Cracker Childhood and The Woods of Fannin County, will be signing books at A Novel Experience, SlowExposures headquarters on the square in Zebulon where you can pick up a map and schedule.  After the weekend, the exhibition will move to the Cochran Gallery in LaGrange, Georgia, for 1 month. Tell Me a Story

Tell Me a Story is the theme for the Southeastern Photographic Society exhibit at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center which opens October 3, 6:00-8:30 pm.  On opening night, there will be a reception and selected photographers will tell the story behind their juried-in image.  Callanwolde is located at 980 Briarcliff Rd in Atlanta.
